MOTHOLOGY
Airy lace fabrics and lightweight jacquards with intricate patterns, "Mothology" is inspired by moths-- their erratic flight patterns, beautiful wing designs, and their usually contentious relationship with knitwear. Using pointelle and tubular jacquard, all fabrics were programmed on Apex 3 software and knit on Shima Seiki computerized knitting machines.
I chose a neutral palette which allowed me to really focus in on subtle nuances and play with mixing warm and cool tones. I imagine these fabrics as womenswear; tunics, billowy knits, and cocoon-like shapes.
